Основната област на изследванията на Каноджия е физиологията на стреса при растенията. Тя изследва биологичните пътища, свързани с намаляването на толерантността на растенията към стрес с възрастта при Arabidopsis thaliana. Развила е значителна експертиза в детайлна морфологична характеристика и физиологични експерименти с растения, картографиране на гени, растителна тъканна култура, метаболомика, транскриптомика и анализ на данни от секвениране на ДНК.
