Scientists from CPSBB presented the Center’s sustainable development and research projects at conferences in Varna and Prague.

The researchers from CPSBB Dr. Emil Vatov, Dr. Avanish Rai, Dr. Sujeet Neerakhal, Synthia Aneva and Anna Alexandrova, took part in the first edition of the Conference in Functional Biology (FUNBio 2025) in Varna, Bulgaria.
The scientific team presented results from studies on the epigenetic regulation of flowering during drought, as well as the BioCrops project conducted at CPSBB and focused on optimizing the use of biostimulants in the cultivation of economically important crops.
Dr. Veselin Petrov took part in Prague at the international conference PLANTMETALS 2025. He presented a poster presentation on the results of a study on the influence of an algae biostimulant on the yield and nutritional qualities of strawberries and raspberries. The data from the study demonstrate that this type of biostimulant contributes to the magnesium biofortification of the studied crops.
