The research activities of CPSBB were presented during an international seminar on sustainable production of essential oils, 12 March 2025



CPSBB took part in an international seminar on sustainable development of essential Oils, organized by the Bulgarian National Association of Essential Oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics. The event was held in Pavel Banya, Bulgaria and brought together over 50 representatives of industry, government organizations and research institutes from the country and abroad.
The main topics of discussion during the one-day seminar were the future of sustainable rose oil production, as well as various forms of cooperation for the successful development of the sector.
Prof. Dr. Vesela Kazashka, Head of the Administration Department of CPSBB and a coordinator of several European projects for mobility and professional development of researchers, presented the activities of the Talent Hub established at CPSBB in 2024. In this context, among the main topics of Prof. Kazashka’s presentation were the circulation of talents and the challenges in recruiting scientists, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers for the sector.
The participants were also introduced to the scientific and business activities at CPSBB, as well as the opportunities for partnerships in joint projects for sustainable development. Large-scale research projects such as NatGenCrop, BELIS, HD4Africa, Talentify, BOOSTER, CropPrime, etc. were presented, on which Bulgarian and foreign scientists are currently working at the Center together with institutes from all over the world. The educational activities at the Center for Biotechnology, related to the training of doctoral students in the field of “Biotechnology”, for which CPSBB has accreditation by the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation, were also presented.
