CPSBB organised and hosted the training seminar “Open Science, Project Activities and Talent Circulation” for doctoral students and young researchers. The event took place on 27 June at CPSBB’s scientific complex in Plovdiv. The event is part of the activities within the TALENTify Hub, which was created at CPSBB with the main goal of offering tools for open science, stimulating the circulation of talent, and assisting doctoral students and young scientists in the preparation, application for funding, and implementation of research projects.
The lecturers at the event were Prof. Vesela Kazashka, Head of the Administration Department at CPSBB and Coordinator of the TALENTify project in Plovdiv, Dr. Petya Georgieva, Director of the Library at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv, Prof. Vasil Kolev, Expert on European projects at CPSBB, and Dr. Veselin Petrov, Head of CPSBB’s “Funding” department. The event is a joint initiative of CPSBB, the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” – Plovdiv, with the participation of colleagues from Agricultural University-Plovdiv.
Prof. Vesela Kazashka presented CPSBB to the participants, as well as the main objectives of the TALENTify project – the establishment of a Talent Exchange Center in Plovdiv, which could provide support for the mobility and relocation of researchers from foreign countries to Bulgaria, as well as facilitate the attraction and retention of scientists within the European Research Area (ERA). The pan-European network EURAXESS was also presented as a partner within the project and an initiative of the European Commission aimed at providing information and support services for career development, mobility of scientists and scientific cooperation between Europe and other countries worldwide.
Dr. Petya Georgieva presented important aspects of legislative documents regulating academic ethics, scientific work, teaching and training of students, doctoral students and postgraduates in Bulgaria. She also presented a number of sources and portals for open science that will assist participants in their research and project activities.
Prof. Vasil Kolev and Dr. Veselin Petrov presented specifics in the preparation, writing and management of projects when applying for funding to Bulgarian and European programs and funds. Project cycle, project management processes, project phases and budgeting were among the main focuses of their presentations.
