CPSBB will conduct researches on photoaging with an innovative 3D skin diagnostics system

The latest addition to the high technology equipment of CPSBB is an innovative system for three-dimensional diagnostics of facial skin. The device provides a detailed personalized analysis of the skin by color mapping of facial features using different lights (standard, polarized, cross-polarized and safe ultraviolet light), thereby determining its age.
With the help of the device, signs of aging on the skin can be analyzed and visualized, some of which are: its structure, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (areas of damage from UV rays) and post-inflammatory erythema, nasolabial wrinkles, fine lines, number and size of pores, sebum (fatty secretion) and porphyrin levels, which is also an indicator of a bacterial infection. It is possible to perform a comparative analysis “before” and “after” when applying modern therapies to reduce signs of aging.
The main strategy of the Plant Cell Biotechnology Department of CPSBB is to conduct the first scientific study with the participation of people (non-risk group category) to evaluate the efficacy of a newly developed cosmetic cream with an organic composition that will protect the skin from premature aging and UV radiation. The main plant molecule in the composition of the cream is unknown to the cosmetic industry and was identified by researchers in the department. The natural composition of the product is about to be patented.
