CPSBB discussed potential partnership for a pilot technology transfer with а Bulgarian food supplement manufacturer

Bulgarian food supplement manufacturer Fortex Nutraceuticals is set to become an industrial partner in the transfer and commercialization of scientific innovations developed by the Plant Cell Biotechnology Department of CPSBB and Laboratory of Metabolomics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).
The collaboration will focus on translating scientific discoveries into innovative food supplements designed to support metabolic health and healthy longevity, as well as cosmetic products aimed at photoprotection and slowing the skin ageing process.
The products will build on many years of research by the scientific team. The researchers have identified natural bioactive compounds with proven beneficial effects through studies using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans). Product development will also make use of the advanced three-dimensional prototype of human epidermis developed by the research team.
The pilot series of food supplements will contain combinations of standardized plant extracts formulated to support metabolic processes in the human body. The formulations will be based on robust scientific evidence and utility models generated through controlled preclinical studies and state-of-the-art metabolomics analyses, providing a strong foundation for their efficacy and quality.
