“European Researchers Night” 2023 at CPSBB, 29 September 2023

For the ninth year, the Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB) is a partner of the international campaign “European Researchers Night” 2023. The initiative is held annually in over 25 European countries. The main goal is researchers from different scientific fields to connect with the general public and young generation and increase their interest in science and research careers. The events, organized by each campaign partner, are designed to demonstrate in an interesting and interactive way various aspects of science and its impact on people’s lives.

On September 29, 2023, CPSBB opened the doors of the newly built scientific complex in the “Trakia” district and welcomed hundreds of visitors on different ages – teachers and students in high school classes and universities, families, children and partners. Researchers from CPSBB and artists from “Prof. Assen Diamandiev Art Academy”, Plovdiv involved the guests in more than 20 events which happened parallelly throughout the building of the Center.

3D printing, DNA strawberry extraction, transplanting palms for home, scientific lectures, experiments with microscopes and lab supplies, demonstrations, poster exhibition and presentation of current scientific research, conducted at CPSBB (projects NatGenCrop, CropPrime, BOOSTER), and even a fashion review were a small part of the program.

Plovdiv Municipality is an annual partner of the campaign.
