Assist. Prof. Dr. Andrey Marchev
Positions: Postdoctoral researcher
Department: Plant Cell Biotechnology, CPSBB
His early work focused on the biosynthesis of high-valuable secondary metabolites using plant in vitro systems as a production platform. Dr. Marchev has developed extensive expertise in plant biotechnology.
The main area of Dr. Marchev’s research comprises the application of plant biotechnology tools and bioprocess engineering technologies in modulation of secondary metabolism in plant cells and tissue cultures at laboratory scale, as well as, metabolite profiling by NMR spectroscopy.
Dr. Marchev is also interested in studying the antineoplastic potential of plant extracts and pure molecules in cancer cell lines.
