CPSBB hosted the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Medical University of Plovdiv

With an official ceremony and an exhibition of innovation, the Medical University of Plovdiv marked the 80th anniversary of its founding at the research complex of CPSBB. The event was attended by the university’s management, alumni, national and international partners, and representatives of diplomatic missions. The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Minister of Health, as well as representatives of state and local authorities, and journalists also attended the ceremony.

In his welcome speech to the guests, the Director of CPSBB, Prof. Tsanko Gechev, presented the CPSBB plaque to the Rector of MU-Plovdiv, Prof. Dr. Angel Uchikov and congratulated the university’s academic management and students. In his address, Prof. Gechev highlighted the university’s remarkable scientific results and achievements, recognizing it as a prestigious educational institution on both national and international levels which trains and educates the future generations of medical professionals from around the world.

“Your work creates generations of professionals, and I wish you to continue inspiring, educating, and changing the world for the better,” concluded Prof. Gechev in his congratulatory address.

Prof. Gechev and the Administrative Director of CPSBB, Prof. Vesela Kazashka, presented to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria the scientific mission and activities of CPSBB as the first Center of Excellence in Bulgaria, established with the support of the EU and the Operational Programs “Science and Education for Smart Growth” and “Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation.”
