CPSBB and IPGR – Sadovo signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

The Center for Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB) and the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources “K. Malkov” – Sadovo (IPGR – Sadovo) concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation.
CPSBB and IPGR – Sadovo are two unequaled scientific organizations for Bulgaria that work actively in the field of plant sciences, maintain key scientific infrastructure and protect plant genetic resources of national importance. The cooperation between the two institutes will expand the opportunities for applied science, innovation and enhancing the scientific capacity in Bulgaria.
The document was signed by Prof. Dr. Tsanko Gechev, Director of CPSBB, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katya Uzundzhalieva, Director of IPGR – Sadovo.
IPGR – Sadovo is a scientific institution with over 140 years of history in agricultural science. The Institute conserves and manages plant genetic resources in accordance with European and international standards, develops breeding programs for resistant varieties of agricultural crops and has a rich scientific and experimental base – including a National Seed Gene Bank, a botanical garden, laboratories and experimental fields.
CPSBB is a leading independent research organization focused on plant molecular biology, functional genomics and applied biotechnology. The Center develops scientific and educational projects in partnership with institutions from Bulgaria and abroad.
The cooperation between the two institutions will create a basis for joint research, exchange of expertise and participation in scientific and educational initiatives. Both organizations are accredited for the training of doctoral students – a key resource for building the next generation of researchers in agricultural and biological sciences.
