CPSBB and the Agricultural University Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation 

 

Оn 18 May 2022 – the  International Fascination of Plants Day – the Rector of the Agricultural University in Plovdiv, Prof. Dr. Hristina Yancheva, and the Director of the Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB), Prof. Dr. Tsanko Gechev, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for joint research and educational activities.

The two institutions will partner for the development of joint master’s and doctoral programs, research and project development, organization of events, discussions, workshops and training. An exchange of lecturers, internships and practical education for interns are also planned.

During the ceremony, Prof. Yancheva reminded that both CPSBB and the Agricultural University have common focus on plants and share similar goals to conduct research and provide training on cutting-edge plant and crop biology. Then she stressed on the importance of combining the efforts of the two institutions to stimulate introduction of innovations in agriculture and allow more efficient exploitation of the vast potential of Bulgaria in this field.

“This partnership is of significant importance for the education of future specialists in plant sciences. It will give them the unique opportunity to upgrade their theoretical knowledge with distinguished practical experience, thanks to the expertise that scientists at our center have and are ready to share with all of them. Our cooperation with the Agricultural University is a logical step, especially after CPSBB received an accreditation for training doctoral students in Biotechnology in 2021”, added Prof. Dr. Tsanko Gechev.
