ISF World Seed Congress, 5-7 July 2023

Dr. Veselin Petrov and Mr. Petar Kazakov participated in the ISF World Seed Congress, organized by the International Seed Federation in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa, from 5 to 7 June 2023. The International Seed Federation  is the largest organization that unites biotechnology, vegetable breeding, and seed-producing companies all over the world. It is widely regarded as the voice of the global seed industry.

The ISF Congress in Cape Town was attended by more than 1000 delegates from over 60 countries worldwide, mainly CEOs of leading organizations and companies in the global agricultural industry.

CPSBB’s repredentatives made contact with Enza Zaden, Suba seeds, Symborg, Starke Ayres, Seed-Co, Anseme, Intertec, Saaten Union, Agrosel, Hectar, Amphasys, Semo, Valley Seeds, Durga Seeds, Cnus, Verim Ziraat and others.

The three-day event featured an exhibition, trading floor, meetings, and hosted panel discussions on important topics, relevant to the seed sector and beyond. The CPSBB delegates participated in all major events and during the event the first Bulgarian Center of Excellence in plant science – was presented as a result of the PlantaSYST project, financed by the European Commission (Horizon 2020) and the Bulgarian Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” with the aim to establish new collaborations and potential partnerships.
