CPSBB, together with the embassy of India in Bulgaria, organized a round table with representatives of Indian scientific institutes

On April 7, 2022, as a joint initiative of CPSBB and the Embassy of India in Bulgaria, a round table discussion was held with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes.

The event was attended by representatives of the Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB), Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), Indian Institute of Horticulture Research (IIHR), Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR), and National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management (NIASM).

The main topic for discussion during the meeting was the scientific cooperation between Bulgaria and India and the potential partnership of CPSBB with the leading Indian scientific institutes. Dr. Amol Nankar, Research Scientist in the Vegetable Breeding Department presented on how collaboration in academic excellence can be achieved between CPSBB and ICAR. The Director of CPSBB,  Prof. Dr. Tsanko Gechev and the Head of Plant Cell Biotechnology Department at CPSBB, Prof. Dr. Milen Georgiev, presented CPSBB’s main research topics, services and education opportunities.

Dr. Gancho Pasev presented the scientific and applied activities of the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute (MVCRI). Mutual research activities with the ICAR institutes were discussed during the meeting, and opportunities for joint projects were identified.
