Dr. Nankar’s PhD research was focused on breeding and biofortification of nutritionally enhanced blue corn of Southwest USA and Northwest Mexico at New Mexico State University, USA. As a postdoctoral researcher in Texas A&M AgriLife, Texas, USA he led the research on characterization of high anthocyanin and mycotoxin resistance to develop the corn breeding lines and hybrids suitable for North American market segment.
In mid 2018, Dr. Nankar joined the CPSBB’s Department of Vegetable Breeding and proactively involved in diverse research activities to establish a tomato and pepper core collection collected from Balkan region.
