Her early work focused on pharmacological modulation of chronic stress, immunoreactivity and inflammation through plant-derived extracts and bioactive compounds in in vivo model systems. Dr. Mihaylova has developed extensive expertise in experimental pharmacology and ethnopharmacology.
The main area of Liliya`s research is modulation of obesity mechanisms through plant extracts and bioactive phytochemicals using in vitro model of human SGBS adipocytes.
Liliya is also interested in studying the effects of pharmacological modulation with natural compounds of the transcription factor Nrf2 in different in vitro models, the cytotoxic potential of plant extracts in breast cancer and chronic skin inflammations.
