My areas of expertise focus on plant physiology, plant-microbe interactions, ROS metabolism, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, biotechnology, phylogenomics and transcriptomics. During my past research, I was involved in the functional characterisation of the Arabidopsis lectin receptor kinase LecRK-V.5 involved in plant response to bacterial pathogens. Then, I studied the function of type-B response regulators in cytokinin-mediated regulation of stomatal immunity. I also characterised the hydrogen peroxide signatures induced during the immune response in Arabidopsis by using the roGFP2-Orp1 sensor.
At CPSBB, one of my research projects consists in the study of the impact of abiotic stresses such as drought and heat on ROS-mediated plant immunity. I am also participating in the study of the genetic architecture of natural accessions of tomato and pepper through GWAs analyses to improve breeding efficiency via cisgenesis and gene editing technologies for a better plant resistance to pathogens.
